This Sunday – A Reading of LEX JULIA – 2pm at the Lounge!

I’m excited to be back at the Lounge Theatre this coming Sunday, where I will be playing fiery Julia Augusti, in a staged reading of LEX JULIA. This riveting new play is written by Mel Green and directed by Leslie Ferreira.

LEX JULIA takes place in a time when Rome was in transition from Republic to Empire. A time when Julia, an educated, politically savvy party girl, was the only person her father, the first Emperor, couldn’t control. A time, when control always reigned supreme and a daughter who didn’t abide by Daddy’s rules…might just have to disappear. This is the exile of Julia Augusti. Please join us at 2pm on Sunday, March 20th at the Lounge Theatre.

Meet The Man Without A Shadow

51U5fZpaj7L._AA160_“The annihilation is not the terror. The journey is the terror.”
–ELIHU HOOPES

We first meet Elihu Hoopes on October 1965, six months after his brain has been ravaged by encephalitis fever.  Elihu Hoopes is The Man Without A Shadow – a deeply fascinating new novel by Joyce Carol Oates that I had the great pleasure of narrating for HarperAudio. Within its poignant pages – the science of the mind, love, loneliness, passion and regret are all beautifully examined.

Elihu, at the age of 37, incurs damage to the hippocampus area of his brain, which prevents him from being able to form short term memories. Over the next 30 years,  Elihu (E.H.) becomes the most famous amnesiac in history while the neuroscientist that is studying him, Margot Sharpe, becomes equally famous for her experiments on E.H.’s mind.  While Margot soars professionally, personally she slowly slips into madness allowing herself to fall into an unethical love affair with E.H.  An affair that Elihu Hoopes doesn’t have the ability to remember and one that leaves Margot Sharpe, even lonelier than before.

The Man Without A Shadow is now available on Amazon and Audible.com.

Hello 2016 and a toast to 2015

ball-dropWishing everyone a wonderful 2016 – may it be your best year ever!

As I look back on 2015, I am so grateful for the many memories, opportunities and experiences that this year brought.

As an audiobook narrator, the year started with much excitement at being nominated for an Audie Award for Stars: Original Stories Based on the Songs of Janis Ian. I was then extremely honored to be asked to be a presenter at The 20th Annual Audie Awards in New York City. What a magical night that was! Throughout the year, I have had the tremendous pleasure of working with many new publishers and authors, on a wide variety of fascinating titles.

As an actor, I began the year by getting cast in a hard-hitting short film. I performed on stage in several staged play readings at various theatres, finishing off the year by playing Phaedra in Phaedra, a production that ran for 3 weeks in Los Angeles.  96 Souls, a feature film that I was cast in last year, had its first cast and crew screening at the Landmark Theatres in Los Angeles and as the year drew to a close, I signed with an awesome new commercial and theatrical agent.

Farewell, 2015! It’s been an amazing year and one that I’m extremely thankful for.

Searching for Glory in the Everyday Grime

51qHuxIddvL._AA300_Is it really possible to find glory in the everyday circumstances of our lives? I had the great pleasure of narrating Finding God at the Kitchen Sink: Search for Glory in the Everyday Grime for Christianaudio in which author, Maggie Paulus, shows us how to do just that!

Through her inspiring down-to-earth stories and reflections, Maggie Paulus gently walks us through her everyday encounters with God in an effort to demonstrate just how much God wants to meet you right where you are, no matter what your circumstance, no matter where you are in your life, no matter how badly you may have messed up.  Even at a kitchen sink full of grimy dishes – God is there.

Finding God at the Kitchen Sink: Search for Glory in the Everyday Grime is now available in audiobook format at Christianaudio.com, Amazon and Audible.com

She is running for her life. He has run from his life. Meet Nancy & Jake in – The Cabin!

61r1TBYRXaL._SL300_

It’s 1930 and the Sierra Nevada Mountains are home to a town of renegade Mormons.  On Nancy’s 18th birthday, her father tells her she has to marry her cousin Abner, who already has 3 wives. Nancy refuses and runs away, spending a fearful night in the woods until she stumbles upon what will ultimately change her life –  THE CABIN

Today is the audiobook release day for The Cabin, book 3 of the Manhattan Stories, by Donna Mabry!  I’ve had so much fun narrating this series for Dreamscape Media. Part of the joy for me, has been getting to know these wonderfully drawn characters that Donna Mabry has so beautifully created, and then having the opportunity to travel through the generations with each of them. From Jessica, to Pillsbury Crossing to The Cabin. It’s been an incredible journey that I won’t soon forget.

The Cabin is now available on Audible.com and at Amazon!
