Hey there. So what exactly is The Gap Decade? Well … according to the delightful, quirky and incredibly funny author, Katie Schnack, The Gap Decade: *When You’re TECHNICALLY An Adult But Really Don’t Feel Like it Yet … is “that twilight zone between ‘young person’ and ‘full-blown adult’ that sort of washes in … It is a few years of flailing around, trying to figure out what the heck is happening as you move from not old to kinda old. From young adult to adult adult.”
The Gap Decade has now released on audio, and I couldn’t be more excited to celebrate this really special, hilarious, and very heartwarming book. When I mentioned that Katie Schnack is funny, I mean she literally had me laughing – at the synopsis! That’s impressive on its own, and I couldn’t wait to record her audiobook – thanks, Christianaudio! But Katie is so much more than a funny author, she’s also witty, down to earth, relatable, and brutally honest about those transitional years that we all go through, from let’s say our early twenties to our early thirties … and beyond. Those years where we are all trying to do our level best to figure out this whole getting older thing. Learning how to navigate those seasons of waiting, waiting, waiting … all the while trying to figure out what we actually want to do in life, sorting out our relationships, trying to live in a TINY space with our person, and even doing taxes … yes – taxes! Figuring out marriage, our mental health, and growing a human being.
The Gap Decade walks us through all of these sometimes awesome, sometimes challenging, sometimes heartbreaking times in our lives, in such a way, that is funny, poignant, and oh so honest, helping each of us in the process to feel just a little more seen, a little less alone, a little more comfortable, as we begin to realize that we are not the only ones going through this. And that yes, getting old is … well … kinda weird.
The Gap Decade is now available on Audible and at Amazon.com.
